Tennis club Milano Alberto Bonacossa, founded in the early 20th century, is one of the eight clubs in Europe with at least one hundred years of history.
At the end of the 19th century the Tennis club was set in a natural green environment with only a few buildings and simple roads. Due to the rapid growth of Milan, the areas around the site got more and more developed. Currently dense housing blocks, a lifted highway and little green areas surrounds the site. The site has become a green oasis in the vast growing city. Can we keep this green void in the growing city development and turn it into a special quality for the surroundings and Milan?

Instead of solving all the individual problems on the site, we combined the future strategy of Milan with the redevelopment of the site. In 2015 Milan will host the World Expo whereby quality areas around the city will be connected into a green network. To be a part of that strategy we enlarged the existing qualities of the site and created an organizing and sustainable “green carpet”. A green carpet with flexibility to incorporate the wishes and ambitions of the client. In our plan we show the possibilities to redevelop the site in different phases, creating a sustainable project with exceptional views and quality architecture.
